Wine Country Close to the Twin Cities
Minnesota wine country is closer than most people expect. Cold-hardy grapes developed at the University of Minnesota have given the region its own style, and there are vineyards within about an hour of Minneapolis in most directions. The trick is that they are in different directions, so it helps to choose one area and plan your day around it.
West of the metro, the Waconia area includes Parley Lake Winery and Schram Vineyards. To the east, Saint Croix Vineyards is in Stillwater, and 7 Vines Vineyard is in Dellwood. To the southeast, Alexis Bailly Vineyard is in Hastings. Hours vary by season, so check with each winery before you lock in your plan.
West: Waconia
Parley Lake Winery and Schram Vineyards, an easy pairing for one day, about 50 minutes from Minneapolis.
East: St. Croix Valley
Saint Croix Vineyards and 7 Vines Vineyard, plus lunch or dinner in downtown Stillwater.

- 02 Send us the plan. Share your date, group size, pickup address and the stops in order.
- 03 We quote the day. Hourly bookings are quoted by the hour, so you know the cost before you confirm.
- 04 Enjoy the day. Your chauffeur handles the driving, the timing and the ride home.
Tips for a Good Tour
- Plan on two or three stops. Any more, and you will spend the day rushing and in the car.
- Reserve your tastings. Larger groups in particular should call each winery first, because many require a reservation.
- Check seasonal hours. Many Minnesota wineries limit their hours outside summer and fall.
- Fall books fast. Fall color and harvest weekends are popular, so book ahead.
